Two haitians boys express their shock, grief, pain and sadness after the 35 seconds earthquake that killed both of their parents leaving them in an orphanage. The boys grab hold of what they know and believe will bring them peace and comfort in the midst of chaos and confusion. The surprising answer in this marvelous story will touch your heart and change the way you think about children's stength.

Marie Fonrose was born in Haiti and came to live in the United States when she was twelve years old. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in science, a master's from Bowie State University in counseling psychology, and a doctoral degree in Psychology from Saybrook University, San Francisco.
Marie spent six weeks in various parts of Haiti after the earthquake providing psycological services to children and adults. While working with the children in Haiti, she realized that a picture book would help children expres themselves about the traumatic event.
Pandan nap jwe nou tande yon bwi tankou lè kamyon ap pase,
goudou, goudou
While we were playing we heard a sound like a big truck,
goudou, goudou

Nou te kontinye jwe toujou
We continued to play

Aprè sa nou wè tè a ap vire tou won
Then we saw the earth turning in a circle
